Erik Rydvall wurde 1983 in Lycksele im Norden Schwedens geboren. Mit sechs Jahren begann er Geige zu spielen, und im Laufe des Lebens probierte er viele verschiedene Instrumente. Mit 18 Jahren entdeckte er die Nyckelharpa und schon ein Jahr danach begann er seine Nyckelharpa-Ausbildung am Eric Sahlström Institutet, Tobo, Schweden. Eric war immer fasziniert, die Möglichkeiten verschiedener Instrumente auszuprobieren und die Nyckelharpa war einfach das perfekte Instrument für ihn. Nach einem Jahr am Eric Sahlström Institutet setzte er sein Studium am Royal Collage of music in Stockholm fort. Heute lebt Erik als Musiker und Musikpädagoge bei Stockholm. Musikalisch ist er bekannt für seine Energie, seine Improvisationen, seine Virtuosität und seine ausdruckstarke Live-Performance. Erik spielt vor allem mit "Nordic", einem jungen Trio, das seit einigen Jahren sehr erfolgreich ist.

Erik Rydvall was born in Lycksele in the north of Sweden 1983. He started with violin at the age of 6 and has tried a lot of different instrument during his lifetime. At the age of 18 he discovered the nyckelharpa and one year later he started the education at Eric Sahlström Institutet (ESI). Erik has always been fascinated by discovering possibilities with different instruments and the nyckelharpa was just perfect for him. After ESI the studies continued at the Royal Collage of music in Stockholm.  Today Erik is working as a musician and teacher, based in Stockholm. Musically he is known for his energy, improvisations, virtuosity and powerful live performances. Erik plays in “Nordic”, a young trio who has reached great success during the last years.
