Geboren 1953, hat Laurent zwei große musikalische und künstlerische Abenteuer erlebt: Er ist Gründungsmitglied von "Malicorne"  und dann von "Le Quatuor", die in den letzten 40 Jahren in Frankreich und in der ganzen Welt einen starken Einfluss hatten. 

Laurent ist einer der ersten französischen Nyckelharpa-Spieler. Im Jahr 1975 entdeckte er das Instrument, das von einer schwedischen Band auf einem internationalen Folkfestival gespielt wurde, und begann, es bei "Malicorne" und später bei "Le Quatuor" zu spielen. Dank des französischen Nyckelharpa-Bauers Jean Claude Condi konnte Laurent sein erstes Instrument reparieren lassen und spielt inzwischen auf Alt- und Tenorinstrumenten von Jean Claude Condi.

Seit 10 Jahren spielt er in Nyckelharpa im Duett, zunächst mit Didier Francois, dann mit Eleonore Billy und jetzt mit Jean Darbois. Sie spielen keine traditionellen schwedischen Melodien zu spielen, sondern erforschen stattdessen verschiedene Arten von Musik, auch mit zusätzlichen Instrumenten und Gesang.

Als Multiinstrumentalist (Gitarre, Mandoline, Bouzouki, Geige, Nyckelharpa, diatonisches Akkordeon, Gesang) hat sich Laurent zum Ziel gesetzt, die Nyckelharpa in der ganzen Welt bekannt zu machen.

Born in 1953, Laurent has lived two great musical and artistic adventures: Founding Member of “Malicorne” and then of “Le Quatuor” that have had a strong impact over the last 40 years, in France and around the world. 

Laurent is one of the first French nyckelharpa player. Back in 1975, he discovered the instrument played by a Swedish band in an International Folk Festival, and start playing it with “Malicorne” and then with “Le Quatuor”. Thanks to the French nyckelharpa maker Jean Claude Condi, Laurent was able to get his first instrument repaired and is now playing on Alto and Tenor made by Jean Claude Condi.
In the last 10 years, he is working on a nyckelharpa duet, started with Didier Francois, followed by Eleonore Billy, and now together with Jean Darbois. Together, they decide not to play Swedish traditional tunes, but to explore different kinds of music, also using additional instruments and singing.

Multi-instrumentalist (guitar, mandolin, bouzouki, violin, nyckelharpa, diatonic accordion, vocals), Laurent’s goal is now to make the nyckelharpa known all over the word.
