Vicki Swan absolvierte das Royal College of Music im Fach Kontrabass mit Spezialisierung auf Performance. In der britischen Folk-Szene ist sie als Vollzeit-Folkmusikerin bekannt, die mit Nyckelharpa, Dudelsack und Gesang auftritt. Als halbe Schwedin war die Nyckelharpa eine natürliche Wahl, um ihr Instrumentarium zu erweitern, und nun prägt sie die Entwicklung der Nyckelharpa in Großbritannien, sowohl in live-Veranstaltungen als auch in den sozialen Medien. Vicki hat einen Master-Abschluss in Pädagogik, spezialisiert auf den Online-Unterricht von Musikinstrumenten. Vicki hat auch den Welt-Nyckelharpa-Tag (http://worldnyckelharpaday.com/) ins Leben gerufen, der jedes Jahr im April auf der ganzen Welt gefeiert wird. Vicki Swan graduated from the Royal College of Music on double bass, specialising in performance. Well known on the British folk scene she is a full time folk musician performing on nyckelharpa, bagpipes and singing. Being half Swedish the nyckelharpa was a natural choice to add to her armoury of instruments and is now she is leading the development of the nyckelharpa in the UK both online and in person. Vicki has a masters degree in Education specialising in the online teaching of musical instruments. Vicki also set up World Nyckelharpa Day which is celebrated around the world each April.
